Rake Mill Pond
Built in the early 19th century Rake Mill Pond was the brainchild of Jarman Rakes. Rakes Mill Pond is a dammed up pond and creates a swamp similar to what a beaver dam would do. The pond is located just past Mile Marker 163 going south on the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can pull out and park on site. Walk down to the dam and put your hand in the water. You will see a 15 foot water fall.
