Sweet Providence Farm

Who are we? We are John Paul and Rainey Houston. Along with our seven children, we own and operate Sweet Providence Farm, a 70 acre diversified farm in the beautiful mountains of Floyd County, Virginia, and our store, Sweet Providence Farm Market & Bakery.

What do we raise on our farm?

Christmas trees
Natural, free-range chickens and turkeys, butchered by us on the farm
Vegetables in season
Beef raised with no growth hormones or antibiotics

What do we sell in our store? In addition to the goods we raise on our farm, our store sells an eclectic mix of local items such as:

Our own home-baked artisan breads, pies and pastries
Sourwood honey
Dark Hollow Roasters (locally fresh roasted) coffee
Natural beeswax and artisan candles
Langston hand-cast pewter sculpture
Custom made fruit and gift baskets
Local certified organic produce (seasonal)
Our own fresh pressed cider (seasonal)
Greenhouse plants (seasonal)
Our own copper kettle apple butter, made over an open fire (seasonal)
