In Spring 2010, the ground will be tilled. Weather permitting, garden planting will begin by Memorial Day.

We are neighbors growing and sharing food in Floyd County. Currently we coordinate the Floyd Community Garden, Portable Produce, Healthy Snacks and Empty Bowls. We can always use extra produce and volunteers to glean, deliver and more.

Floyd Community Market
SustainFloyd in conjunction with the local food movement has sponsored and provided the new
Floyd Community Market. The Farmer's Market will include local crafts and produce.
The Market will showcase local artisans, farmers, baked goods and craft, and will continue as a site for community and cultural events like the Eco-Fair.
The Floyd Artisans Market kicks off in early May. Local artisans and crafters will display their work on Friday nights throughout the season during the hoursof 4pm-8pm

Who are we? We are John Paul and Rainey Houston. Along with our seven children, we own and operate Sweet Providence Farm, a 70 acre diversified farm in the beautiful mountains of Floyd County, Virginia, and our store, Sweet Providence Farm Market & Bakery.
